I didn’t make the graphic, but I assume that’s what it was supposed to say.
What do you mean, “trimmed” version? (I don’t have access to Netflix, so I can’t check - what have they done to the show?)
It’s mentioned in this confession. When British shows get exported to the U.S., the production company normally cuts some scenes to accommodate American time slots. The longest scenes I remember being missing when Ashes to Ashes aired here were “Uptown Girl” and the scene from the pilot beginning with Shaz hugging Chris and ending with him shooting that guy in the foot. This was PBS in Boston, but I read that BBC America had the same cuts. And now apparently Netflix carries the same truncated version. I don’t recall anything essential to the plot being cut, but it can still be jarring and disappointing if you’re familiar with the original.
Judging from the runtimes listed on iTunes though, they appear to have it uncut. :)
It’s been a while since I needed to watch it online, so I don’t know of any working sources anymore (apart from torrents and the trimmed version on Netflix).
Anyone else out there know?
